With this application you can monitor the current state of air quality in BiH cities where there are automatic stations for measuring air pollutants.

Air quality is expressed through the so-called. air quality index (IKZ) prepared by the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute in consultation with the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of RS. IKZ for Bosnia and Herzegovina was created on the model of the US EPA Air Quality Index with some minor changes.

IKZ is calculated based on measurement data of PM2.5, PM10, CO, O3, SO2 and NO2 pollutants. It is expressed by a numerical value, color and category name.

Depending on the degree of air pollution, the application also provides brief information on the possible impact on human health, as well as advice on how to behave when the air is polluted.

Data are automatically published from measuring stations and are not controlled and validated.

The application was developed within the IMPAQ project coordinated by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) with the financial support of the Embassy of Sweden.
