As a person with statutory health insurance from BKK GILDEMEISTER SEIDENSTICKER, the electronic patient file, “ePA” for short, is available to you free of charge. On a voluntary basis, you can permanently and securely manage your health data there. The EHR is the personal digital storage location for your health data, like a safe for which only you have the key. Because you as the insured person have sole data sovereignty: you decide whether and who should have access to your electronic file. And you decide what data you want to put in and share. With your approval, physicians can file diagnoses, findings or medication plans for you in the ePA. If a doctor, therapist or pharmacist needs your findings or documents, he first needs the appropriate key, i.e. explicit approval from you.

Benefits of the EHR
Every visit to the doctor usually causes a lot of documents and paperwork. If you have to see different doctors because of an illness or unclear symptoms, you will often be examined twice and have to answer the same questions again. With the electronic patient file, your data can now be conveniently transmitted online and digitally. Unnecessary visits to the doctor and multiple examinations are a thing of the past. This makes your life much easier. You always have an overview of your health data - and you also have your medication plan quickly at hand, which avoids the risk of interactions and dosing errors. With the ePA you save a lot of time and valuable nerves and at the same time relieve the burden on those involved in the healthcare system.

Security
As a statutory health insurance company, we ensure the best possible protection of your health data. To ensure that only you or persons authorized by you have access to your ePA, we will identify you securely once. To do this, use one of the following options:

• Activation code: We identify you in one of our branches and give you an activation code.
• POSTIDENT: Choose between identification at the post office or with your electronic identity card.
• Health card (eGK): Use your eGK including the associated PIN.
