Educational measures can save lives and reduce the serious complications of COVID-19. The dissemination of quality information, based on scientific evidence, faces challenges in translating international recommendations into Portuguese.
A group of researchers, doctors, computer science professionals and academics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais developed an application for the wide dissemination of information about COVID-19, focusing on Portuguese-speaking users. The extension project was approved by the University and registered under number SIEX 403725.

The amount of information on the transmission of the virus, risk factors for the severe form of the disease and preventive approaches is enormous and updates are presented continuously. An application is capable of providing sequential versions, keeping its users well informed and in line with the best recommendations of international organizations, such as the World Health Organization. Another issue that arises is that in each region of the world the spread of the virus is found in different stage and sanitary measures are taken by governments, depending on local needs and available resources. The information in this application is generic and useful for any scenarios, but should not overlap or be replaced by the guidelines of the local health authorities.

In line with the strategy of digital health and learning based on everyday problems, the serious game format offers the opportunity for players to learn more and appropriate essential knowledge to prevent infection by the new coronavirus.
