The Ta'lîm al-Muta'allim Tharîq at-Ta'allum book is one of the books that collects study guides. The compiler's full name is Burhânuddîn Ibrâhim al-Zarnûji al-Hanafi. The word al-Zarnûj is attributed to one of the famous cities near the Oxus river, Turkey. From his pension to al-Hanafi at the end of his name, it can be seen that he was a Hanafi school. Regarding the year of his birth the scholars still have different opinions, as well as the year of his death. Some say that Imam al-Zarnûji died in 591 AH, but there are also those who mention he died in 640 AH (Imam al-Zarnûji, Ta'lîm al-Muta'allim Tharîq at-Ta'allum, Beirut: al-Maktab al-Islami, first printing, 1981, page 18).

Imam al-Zarnûji studied from several great scholars of his time, including Ruknul Islam Muhammad bin Abi Bakr (573 AH), Hammad bin Ibrahim, Fakhruddin al-Kâsyâni, Fakhruddin Qâdhi Khan al-Awz Jundi, and Ruknuddin al-Farghâni. The scholars are both fiqh and literary experts. Perhaps this is the factor that led to the large amount of advice quoted by Imam al-Zarnûji from the Hanafiyah scholars, and the large number of verses in this book.
