Niccol di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (May 3, 1469 - June 21, 1527) was born and died in Florence, was a thinker and political philosopher in Italy during the Renaissance. Machiavelli became the main character and founder of political realism, which later became the backbone of political science studies. His most famous book ever, The Prince, which was a work Machiavelli's goal was to write advice to a ruler, the book was published after his death, and it supported the idea that what is useful is necessary, which was an early picture of utilitarianism and political realism. Machiavelli's theories were elaborated in the twentieth century.
His life
Machiavelli was born in Florence to a lawyer, Bernardo de Nicola Machiavelli and Bartolome de Estfano Nelli, who came from an ancient Tuscan family. His father was a noble, and Machiavelli did not receive a wide education but showed sharp intelligence. Machiavelli at the beginning followed the Italian cleric and politician Girolamo Savonarola, who belonged to the Dominican order and who had been granted the title of servant of the Lord, and Savonarola was addressing a call to the Italian youth to adhere to virtue, but Machiavelli soon turned away from him; As Machiavelli was a political man seeking to separate religion from power by making Florence a republic.
Machiavelli was chosen in 1498 AD as secretary of the Second Chancellery of the Republic of Florence, which oversees foreign and military affairs, and he was 29 years old at the time, and in 1500 AD, Machiavelli completed his first diplomatic mission to France, where he met King Louis XII. In the year 1502 AD, Machiavelli ended his diplomatic mission during which Caesar visited Borgia, during which he witnessed the fall of Borgia from power following the death of the Caesar's father, Pope Alexander VI. Machiavelli returned to France again in 1504 AD, and in 1506 AD he sent Machiavelli on a diplomatic mission to Pope Julius II, and in 1507 AD he made his first mission to Emperor Maximilan. Machiavelli remained in his position as secretary of the Second Chancellery for a period of no less than 14 years, until he was imprisoned in Florence in 1512 AD. This was both after the Medici family returned to power in Florence and the overthrow of the Sudrini Republic, and a decision was issued to execute him in 1513 AD, but he miraculously escaped that punishment but was dismissed from his work, and here the rumors collided as to whether he had been exiled to San Cassiano or he resorted to it, but What was confirmed is that he remained in his rural residence in Sant'Andrea, where he began his book Hadiths and finished his book The Prince, and in 1527 AD Niccol Machiavelli died and was buried in Santa Croce in Florence.
The period of his life can be divided into three parts, all representing an important period in the history of Florence, where he witnessed in his youth and his growth the prosperity and greatness of Florence as an Italian power under the rule of Lorenzo de Medici, and the fall of the Medici family in 1494, when Machiavelli entered the public service, during which Florence was liberated And it came under the rule of a republic, which lasted for the year 1512 AD, when the Medici family regained the reins of power, but when they returned to power, Machiavelli was accused of plotting against her and imprisoned, but the Tenth Babylonians released him and chose a life of isolation in the countryside where he wrote many books, the most important of which is the book (The Prince) and the Medici family ruled until the year 1527 AD, when they were evacuated from the city on June 22 again, and at that time it was the period that resulted from Machiavelli's activities and his writings, but he died, at the age of about fifty-eight, before he regained his position in power.
Many political thinkers claim that Machiavelli has an important role in the development of political thought, as he established a new approach in politics, with ideas heralding attempts to transcend religious thought. This turning point to bypass the religious authority that prevailed in medieval European political thought was followed by other, more serious transformations by Voltaire, Montesquieu, John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and other liberal Enlightenment thinkers. Machiavelli was thus an important turning point in the history of political thought
Conditions of its inception
Nicola Machiavelli was not just a writer, philosopher, or theorist, but he was deeply involved in the turbulent and unstable political life that "Florence" went through during the period in which he lived. Nicolas Machiavelli was born in 1469 AD into an ancient family, and the "Medishians" had established an authoritarian rule, but he preserved the old republican regimes, while they firmly held the reins of real rule. The Machiavelli family was not loyal to the Medici family. The father of Nicolas Machiavelli was a famous lawyer and one of the leading advocates of the republic. As for Machiavelli's life as a young man, very little information is available about her. It is assumed, however, that it may educate middle-class culture.
