Hassan bin Thabit bin al-Mundhir al-Khazraji al-Ansari, Abu al-Walid. Companion, poet of the Prophet (PBUH) and one of the veterans who recognized Jahiliyya and Islam. Sixty years lived in ignorance, and the same in Islam. He was a resident of the city. His praises were famous among the Ghassanids, and the kings of al-Hirah, before Islam, before his death. He did not testify with the Prophet (PBUH) due to a malady that befell him. He had a forelock between his eyes, and he used to strike with his tongue the droppings of his nose from his length. Abu Ubaidah said: Hassan Al-Shuara preferred three: He was the Ansar poet in Jahiliyyah, the Prophet’s poet in prophethood, and the Yemeni poet in Islam. And he was very satirical, so he stalled poetry. Al-Mabrad said (in Al-Kamil): The most ancient people were among the poets Al Hassan, because they count six in a line, all of them are poets, and they are: Saeed bin Abdul Rahman bin Hassan bin Thabit bin Al-Mundhir Ibn Haram. He died in the city. And in (Divan of his poetry - i) what is left of it. It became extinct after Hassan. Among the books written in his biography and poetry (Hassan bin Thabit - i) composed by Nimr, and the like by Khaldun al-Kinani, and the like by Fuad al-Bustani.
