Abu Bakr Salem Balfaqiya (17 March 1939 - 10 December 2017), a Saudi singer and composer of Hadrami origins. He mastered the different Arab singing colors. He became prominent in the Hadrami singing, which he began practicing since his artistic beginnings, and presented more than ten songs, including: (He said the meaning to him), (Poor people), (Oh night, do I complain), (Waghrd), and (Bat Sajy Al-party) ), (Love of Rabbi Sana'a), (Messenger of the People), (Mjrouh) and (Aseel and God is authentic), in addition to the eloquent poems of Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi and his grandfather Abu Bakr bin Shihab, as well as concerts in the various Arab song festivals.
His songs were sung by the artists of the Arab world such as Walid Tawfiq and Ragheb Alama, in addition to Arab Gulf artists such as Talal Maddah and Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, in addition to his writing and composing songs by the great artists of the Arab world, such as the late Warda Al Jazaery. He also has a "poet's diwan" before the ritual that contains the poems he wrote throughout his artistic and literary career since entering the world of art and literature in 1956. He is called "the father of Gulf singing".
His artistic life
Abu Bakr Tarim left his hometown in the early years of his youth and moved and settled in the city of Aden in the mid-fifties, and at that time Aden was witnessing a great artistic renaissance, as he joined the artistic community as a percussionist for a number of artists, and there he got acquainted with many of its poets, artists and media figures such as the poet Lotfi Jaafar Aman. And the artist Ahmed bin Ahmed Qassem, Muhammad Saad Abdullah, Muhammad Murshid Naji, and the poet and journalist Fadl Al-Naqib (Ya Ward Local Jamalak), including the song (When I See the Beloved)
With the accompaniment of the oud player, the artist Anwar Ahmed Qassem, then the artist Muhammed Murshid Naji (Fear Your Lord), (Oh My Love, O Light Spirit) and (Sahran Layla Long), and he composed and sang a number of classical poems such as: (Live with me, Jarrah) By the Tunisian poet Abi Al-Qassem Al-Shabi, “A night that shines with light for us,” and “You came to walk slowly.” He soon learned to play the lute after that, and he met at this stage with both the poets Lotfi Jaafar Aman and Hussein Abu Bakr Al-Mihdhar, and he sang for the first (They described love to me), (We had days), (I live for you), and sang for the second (One Night in the Long), (Take from Al-Hashemi), and (I wished for love) songs of Dr. Muhammad Abdo Ghanem including: (Tell him) And (He told me Batob), and (Who taught you, O Kahil Al-Ain).

Abu Bakr presented many colors such as the Hadrami color and Dan the Hadrami with the great Hadramawt poet Hussein Abu Bakr Al-Mihdhar and other poets and composers, and he also presented some songs of an Adani and Sanani character from the words of Lotfi Aman, Muhammad Abdo Ghanem and others. However, the Hadrami color is considered the special and preferred color of Abu Bakr, where Abu Bakr contributed to what was later known as the Gulf song, where he introduced the details of the Hadrami color and the Hadrami Dan to the Gulf and also benefited from the rapprochement between the Gulf dialect and the Hadrami to produce after that the Gulf song that depends a lot on the Hadrami color and there too. Those who contributed with Abu Bakr to show the Gulf song, such as: Abdul Aziz Al-Mafarraj, Ghraid Al-Shati, Tariq Abdel Hakim, and Talal Maddah.
