The Digital Bus is a two-way communication system between drivers and the company's main service management tools: Zeus and PRISMA. The Digital Bus uses an OnBoard app developed on Android and installed on a smartphone on board the bus, it allows to record in real time all the data related to the services performed by the driver during the day: driving times, kilometers traveled, breaks, delays , breakdowns, etc. All the information recovered by the Digital Bus is stored in our systems for later analysis and support in decision-making. By using the Digital Bus, it is possible to eliminate the use of paper support (service sheet to be completed by the driver) in the daily interaction processes between drivers and the company. During the service and while the bus is in circulation, the smartphone device will be fixed to the dashboard to guarantee correct visualization and not interfere with driving tasks. The graphic interface of the app has been designed to allow drivers to interact with the minimum keystrokes necessary, and this interaction must always be carried out with the stopped vehicle.

It is important to note that the system is designed to work without the need to integrate with any other equipment on board the bus to obtain data related to mileage and geo-positioning. All this information is obtained using the GPS of the smartphone in which the OnBoard app is installed. In addition, the data collection system (events, GPS coordinates and mileage) carried out by the OnBoard app is done twice. On the one hand, the data obtained from the interaction with the driver is recorded, but on the other, the app has a system that also allows the same data to be recorded automatically. This automatic registration system, totally transparent for the user, is based on the use of geofences to detect passage through checkpoints: garages, stops, expedition starts, etc.
By accessing the app, drivers will be able to see the list of services assigned to them for the current day. Drivers must interact with the app to record events or status changes in their services: exit from garages, start of a service, start of an expedition, etc. In the same way, they will also have options to report incidents or breakdowns.
The system also allows you to send text messages in real time to the OnBoard app from our assignment software (Zeus), so that drivers are informed of any changes or information regarding their services. The OnBoard app also provides the driver with other functionalities that can help him in his day-to-day life, such as the ability to view the routes of his services on a map, guide him to his next destination via Google Maps and notify him in advance in case of delays.
The app also includes an option for the driver to take pictures of the different types of tickets. These photographs are also sent in real time to our back office, avoiding having to manage the paper support.
