Kurulus Osman is the sequel to the very popular series "Dirilis Ertugrul". "Dirilis" starring Engin Altan Duzyatan followed the life of Ertugrul Gazi. As the holy crusades swept the Middle East, nomadic Turkish tribes made their way to the new promised land. A young but brave warrior, Ertugrul Gazi (son of Suleiman Shah) had to take charge of the situation in his tribe after his father's death. From the Crusaders to the Byzantines, Ertugrul and his companions fought the villains. A huge problem appeared on the horizon. Evil Mongols led by the individualist Noyan threatened their camp.

The sequel will be about Ertugrul Gazi's son, Osman Gazi. Born in 1259, he became a leader after his father's death in 1288. It is said that he fell in love with a girl called Mal Khatun, but her father did not agree to the relationship. After a dream, legend has it that her father agreed to the union. Osman then conquered his neighbours in the place where the Ottoman Empire was born.
