Elvy Sukaesih is one of the legendary dangdut singers of Indonesia and is dubbed the "Queen of Dangdut". He was born to a couple from Sumedang, West Java. Her singing talent was passed down from her father (her family's nickname is her family). His father was a musician who used to fill weddings around West Java. His career began to take off in the early 1970s when he became a companion singer for Rhoma Irama at the Soneta Orchestra (OM), although previously he was popular on various stages. After separating from Soneta (in 1975), he pursued a solo career and continues to exist in dangdut music until now.
