As early as the Song Dynasty, there were books devoted to the cleansing of the study room. In the Ming Dynasty, books that looked like a guide to the taste of life were even more popular for a while. Among them, the most representative ones are Tu Long's "Kao Pan Yu Shi" and Gao Lian. "The Eight Notes of Zunsheng" and Wen Zhenheng's "Longwuzhi". Literati will judge "elegance" and "vulgarity" based on the source, material, appearance and season of the study objects. Their ideal study room should be bright and clean. A guqin and a landscape painting are hung on the wall. The books of Gu Xian are displayed on the upper right side of the book, and there is a bonsai of strange stones next to it. There is a long table in the middle of the house, and every stationery on the table is carefully selected. For example, the inkstone is the top of the inkstone, the pen holder is made of Hunan bamboo for elegance, and the water is made of jade. In this small space, the literati have clear windows, easy reading, burning incense, painting and calligraphy in the pool, tasting tea and offering flowers, leisurely and contented.
