The New Testament is the second part of the Bible. It has 27 books that, added to the 39 books of the Old Testament, make up the Bible, the sacred book, the Word of God.

The books of the New Testament were written after the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. They narrate the new covenant that God made with the people after the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

These books were written by 7 people over a period of 50 years and are divided into four parts:

- The Gospels: they were written in Greek by the apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and relate the life and teachings of Jesus.

- The Acts of the Apostles relate the preaching of the apostles and the beginning of the religion and the Christian church. They were written by Luke and constitute a historical account of the development of Christianity.

- The 21 epistles were written by the apostles Peter, John, James, Judas and Paul who wrote 14 of them, to be read publicly in the churches. It was the means of communication of the time and they were addressed to different peoples: the Romans, the Corinthians, the Galatians, the Ephesians, the Philippians, the Colossians, the Thessalonians, Timothy, Titus and Philemon.

- The apocalypse or revelation: it is the last book of the Bible in which the final triumph of Jesus Christ as enthroned King and that of his future people is described.
