With the COMPUTER BILD speed test, you can measure your exact connection speed. In contrast to synthetic tests, the COMPUTER BILD speed test also measures the quality of your mobile network in a practical way, exactly where you use your mobile phone. And you help COMPUTER BILD with every measurement to detect the weak points in the German mobile network - and to confront the network operators with the results.

The COMPUTER BILD speed test offers the following functions:

SpeedTest (speed measurement)
Tap on "Start speed test" and determine the speed of your Internet connection when loading (downloading) and sending (uploading) data. In addition, the reaction time when contacting the Internet server (ping) is measured. The course of the speed build-up and the final measurement results are clearly displayed.

Results
It doesn't matter whether the measurement was made via WLAN or mobile phone - you can call up measurements that have already been taken at any time via the "Results" menu item.

Map (network coverage)
The network coverage map shows the network reception with LTE (4G) and 5G in areas for which measurement results are available. Areas with 5G reception are shown in green, areas with LTE in red. In addition, the signal strength is displayed in color (higher color intensity = better reception).

Measurement via mobile radio or WLAN
The speed test measurements can be carried out via any Internet connection, both via mobile communications and via WLAN. If you want to measure the mobile speed, the WLAN connection must be disconnected. With your participation, you help COMPUTERBILD to determine statistics on the quality of mobile phone networks in Germany.
