My kids got the game "Bounce Off" from Mattel for Christmas last year, and we've enjoyed playing it - to the point where we wanted some additional ball patterns beyond the 9 cards that come with the game.

At the same time, I have been teaching a "Beginning Android App" 6 week programming course to some 5th graders at my kids' school, using the excellent "App Inventor" system from MIT/Google.

It seemed like a great opportunity to demonstrate a useful real world app that could be written with App Inventor, and placed on the Play Store. So here it is!

- You can configure how many balls you'd like in the randomized pattern.
- You can also configure whether the ball pattern needs to be contiguous or not.
- To help keep score, the blue and yellow players can click the blue & yellow buttons to increment the score counters.

Clearly, this app is only really useful when paired with the "Bounce Off" board game or something similar.

Here are some useful web links:
Mattel's Bounce Off game: http://www.mattelgames.com/en-us/bounce-off/index.html
MIT/Google App Inventor: http://appinventor.mit.edu/

In case it's not obvious, I am in no way affiliated with Mattel or the Bounce Off game or MIT or Google.

I realize this app requires more permissions that one would think - unfortunately the App Inventor development system requires this. The only thing this app does is save its configuration data to your device. It doesn't use the internet access or access any phone information.
