It certainly offers about fears - the first to come immediately if you try to remove your mask - but the gameplay is a bit rough around the edges. If you're looking for haunting, atmospheric narration with just a pinch of gameplay, My Beautiful Paper Smile has what you need. If you want a deeper experience though, you might find that it's missing.

😱😱 My Beautiful Paper Smile horror takes place both inside and outside the facility, but there is a strange feeling every second of the game. Like all good horrors, the tension reaches peaks and troughs throughout, but always seems to increase. The disturbing aesthetics of the scribbled paper helped to capture this sense of unease, as did the crisp Rice Krispie of each step. The first chapter resembles a saw dungeon crawler, each corridor changing shape each time you return. The enemies clearly all share a gothic pagan stylist too, with long dresses, spider limbs, horns, and faces covered with spades, too.
