OUR STORY

The Petrópolis Assembly of God was born in May 1927, with the arrival of pastor Bruno Skolimowski. In the beginning, the meetings were held at the Fonseca Ramos Street, # 77, in the center.

With the growing number of members, the expansion of the temple-center was necessary. In 1946, Belarmino Teixeira Martins pastor, built with the support of all members, a large building which now operates the new headquarters and the parsonage.

Even today this building is in full spiritual and educational force, located in Padre Moreira street in Valparaiso, where one of our congregations and the College Gunnar Vingren.

Sequel to this fruitful ministry, God sent Luis Cesario pastor with a vision of evangelization. And the church grew in number, resulting in the need for a new temple.

In 1969, Pastor Louis Cesario met all ministry, in order to develop a campaign to build a new parish church. With the commitment and dedication of all members, it was inaugurated the new temple-central, where even today is located the headquarters of the Church of Petropolis Assembly of God in Washington Luis Street, 369, in the center.

On 24 October 1987, the presidency of the church passed into the hands of temoteo Oliveira Ramos pastor. Since then, the Assembly of God in Petrópolis has enjoyed significant growth and become a reference in the country.

Through missionary work, the church installed works in countries like Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Cuba, United States, Colombia, Ecuador, among others.

The number of congregations has almost tripled. Today there are more than 60 in every municipality. In addition, they were installed Petrópolis field extension work in Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Amazonas and Holy Spirit, and in the cities of Carmo, Quissamã, Barra do Pirai, Maua, Macae, Santa Dalila, Teresopolis and etc.

Today, the number of members of the Assembly of God of Petrópolis have surpassed 14,000.

So, after 87 years since its founding, Petrópolis Assembly of God Church will continue its march, fulfilling its role to spread the true gospel in this city and nation.
