The types of khat
In its development appeared some kind of calligraphy khat not all the khat lasted until today. There are eight kinds of calligraphic calligraphy that known by the lovers of calligraphy art.

Khat naskhi
Most commonly used by good Islamic people to write religious scripts and daily writing. Naskhi style including the oldest style of calligraphy writing. Since the writing rules are formulated systematically by ibnu muqlah in the tenth century, this style of calligraphy is very popular used to write the Qur'anic manuscripts until now. The character of the letters is almost unadorned so that it is easy to write and read.

Khat tsuluts
Tsuluts style calligraphy is very ornamental with lots of decorations and easily formed in certain compositions to fill the available space. Who created this style is an Arabic minister of hemorrhoids in the era of abbasiyah. Because the beauty and flexibility of tsuluts style is widely used as an ornament of mosque architecture, book cover and interior decoration and so forth.

Khat farisi
As seen from the name calligraphy farisi force developed by Persians and became the official letter of this nation since the dynasty era until now. Farisi calligraphy is very prioritizing the line elements are written without the vowel and expertise of the writer is determined by agility to play the thickness of the letters in the right 'dose'.

Khat riq'ah
This calligraphy is the result of the development of naskhi style calligraphy and tsuluts. As it does with the naskhi style of writing used in everyday writing. Riq'ah developed by calligrapher daulah utsmaniyah is also commonly used for regular handwriting or for other practical purposes. The character of the letter is very simple, without a vow allowing it to be written quickly.

Skill diploma
Writing calligraphy style diploma or raihani is a blend of tsuluts and naskhi style, developed by calligrapher daulah experts. This style is commonly used for writing a diploma from a calligraphy teacher to his students. Character letters such as tsuluts, but more simple, slightly additional decoration, and not commonly written in stacks or murakkab.

Khat diwani
This calligraphy was developed by ibrahim munif calligrapher, then perfected by shaykh hamdullah and calligrapher daulah usmani in turki end of the 15th century and early 16th century. This style is used to write the head of the official letter of the kingdom. The character of this style is round and not in character. The beauty of his writing depends on his line of play occasionally on certain letters high or decreasing far beyond the horizontal line. Diwani calligraphy model is widely used for architectural ornaments and book covers.

Khat diwani jail
This calligraphy is a diwani style development. This style of calligraphy was introduced by hafiz usman, a prominent calligrapher to the Ottoman Turks in Turkey. The anatomy of the letters diwani Jali is basically similar to Diwani, but much more ornamental solid, and sometimes piled up. Unlike the diwani who are not in jopian diwani jali opposite very abundant. This abundant harak is more intended for decorative purposes and does not entirely serve as a punctuation. Hence this style is hard to read at a glance. Usually this model is used for applications that are not functional like interior decoration mosque or decorative objects.
