ABOUT THE PROJECT
The application is based on the art-science collaboration between the artist Elisabeth Weissensteiner and the cognitive scientist Christian Freksa. Its result is a permanent, interactive computer installation on the premises of the Cognitive Systems Group at the University of Bremen, Germany. The project takes up Aristophanes’ city between earth and sky as ironic metaphor for an attempt to localize the space of creativity.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elisabeth Weissensteiner is interested in the syntax of space and the semantics of materials. She has studied German literature and art history, and has been working in sculpture, photo-based media, public art, and art-science projects internationally ever since. Her work is represented by galleries in Melbourne, Australia, and Vienna, Austria.
