Povradio was born of the ashes of another internet radio station who's name shall not be spoken. Troy (Rockstar) Swann was befriended by Jeffrey Smith and Terrie Smith in Roanoke Virginia as the result of one of Rockstars' couch surfing moments in his quest for greatness. Troy had been playing music for another radio station and was more than excited to have Terrie Smith join the ranks as a internet dj under the name of Crazyhorse. Those were the days of mashups and discovering new and insane friends which was exactly what Terrie needed at the time due to some disabling health conditions. A new outlet for fun and friends. A sense of belonging and a new door that was open to a world of new people and a hope for a better future. Little did we know this was exactly the keystone through the new and triumphant arch to Povradio.com. Anarchy 1, (station that shall not be spoken) dissolved as a result of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement in 2011. The door of opportunity for happiness was slammed shut.. .. . Until.... Povradio was formed in the vacuum that was created by the dissolvement of Anarchy 1 and became the new host to the homeless dj's hereby referred to as Radio Personalities. Jeffrey Smith, the husband of Terrie Smith with the help of Troy and creative input from Terrie decided to build POVRADIO. Three sleepless days and nights and gallons of coffee later Rockstar, Crazyhorse (now Psychomom), and Jeffrey Smith (then Digital Jesus) fired up the station for the first time on December 5th, 2011 in the small two bedroom colonial apartment in Roanoke Virginia from two laptops and a folding plastic table. The Radio personalities at that time were John (The Saint) St. Angelo and his wife Penny Pape (Members of Stolen Rose) from Portland Oregon, Troy (Rockstar) Swann from Lawsonville, North Carolina, Jeffrey (Digital Jesus now Electronic Messiah named by Troy Swann) Smith and Terrie Smith (Psychomom) from Houston Texas, Jack (Rockin Devil) from Germany, Neil (Crazy Kat Daddy) Breaks from somewhere in England, Geoff (Dr. Sick Puppy) Last, Jebus Whitaker from Winston-Salem North Carolina and Michael (Muppet) Boyd. Since then we have had great times and not so great times. We have lost radio personalities and made several changes to the station and its direction. We will call them growing pains. Today the station is still alive and well. Povradio.com has become a unique entity. There is literally nothing else like it. We are integrated into IMVU, hosted events in Las Vegas, Oregon, Virginia, Pensylvania, North Carolina and Houston Tx. with many more to come. The station plays day or night (at 256 kbps for our audiophiles out there) with everything from mainstream music to band submittals from some amazing artists. Live Radio personalities play at designated and not so designated times. A featured chat box on the povradio.com webpage allows listeners to play games and speak with each other and the radio personality on at that time.
