This is a free app to send Eid al-Fitr greeting cards or in Malays language, kad ucapan Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and wishes to Muslim friends and relatives.
Eid al-Fitr is the festival of breaking fast celebrated by the Muslims around the world. It is celebrated in the month of Shawwal or sometimes spelled as Syawal which is the tenth month of the lunar based Islamic calendar. The celebration comes after a month-long fasting observed during the month of Ramadan which is the month before Shawwal where adult Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.
Eid al-Fitr is more commonly called Hari Raya in most of Southeast Asian countries particularly Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. However, at times, additional word is added after Hari Raya to become Hari Raya Puasa or Hari Raya Aidilfitri to differentiate it with Hari Raya Haji or Hari Raya Korban or Hari Raya Aidiladha, which all of them refer to Eid al-Adha, the festival of the sacrifice, which is celebrated starting on the tenth day of the twelfth month of the lunar based Islamic calendar. In Indonesia, Eid al-Fitr is popularly called Lebaran or Hari Raya Idul Fitri.
The most common spoken greetings and wishes during Eid al-Fitr is Selamat Hari Raya but in written form, people do put it as Selamat Hari Raya Puasa or Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri as differentiation to Eid al-Adha. Selamat Hari Raya can be literally translated as Happy Great Day. In a more formal context, Salam Aidilfitri which means Aidilfitri Greetings or Aidilfitri Regards is also used. In Indonesia, the greetings of Selamat Idul Fitri or Selamat Hari Lebaran are commonly used.
The Selamat Hari Raya greetings and wishes is sometimes followed by, mohon maaf zahir dan batin or simply, maaf zahir batin in both spoken and written form. This phrase means seeking forgiveness of physical and emotional wrongdoings. This is because, besides celebrating the success of abstaining from pleasure such as food, drink and sexual intercourse for a month during Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr is also a time for making amends, reparation or expiation of sins and wrongdoings that had been committed after coming into realisation of sufferings and hardship during the fasting month.
Eid al-Fitr Greetings is an easy to use app to send Eid al-Fitr greeting cards and wishes or kad ucapan Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malays language. Just browse through the collection of the cards and when you had chosen the right card, just tap on the small share icon on the bottom right of the image. A pop-up will appear for you to enter your additional message. By the way, all the greeting cards already have wishes on them. When you are done with your additional message, send the greeting cards together with your message through the communication apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Signal, WeChat, etc or even email apps that you have in your mobile phone. You can also choose to send to yourself for your own keeping and future use. And that’s it!
Foster the bonding with your Muslim friends and relatives this Eid al-Fitr and remember, Selamat Hari Raya is the greetings and wishes in Southeast Asia.
