Surat al-Infitar (Arabic: سورة الانفطار, “The Cleaving”, “Bursting Apart”) is the 82nd sura of the Qur'an with 19 ayat located in Para 30 Juz Amma. The chapter is named ‘Al-Infitar’ because of the occurrence of the word ‘unfatarat’, in the first verse of this chapter. Infitar means ‘split asunder’. This word, ‘Unfatarat’ is used in this chapter in order to describe the splitting the sky on the day of Judgment. This chapter (Al-Infitar), along with Chapter At-Takwir and Al-Inshiqaq provide exhaustive description about ‘Day of Judgment’.
Hadith / Hadees:
The first and foremost exegesis / tafsir of the Qur'an is found in hadith of prophet Muhammad. Although scholars including ibn Taymiyyah claim that Muhammad (s) has commented on the whole of the Qur'an, others including Ghazali cite the limited amount of narratives, thus indicating that he has commented only on a portion of the Qur'an. Hadith / Hadis (حديث) is literally "speech" or "report", that is a recorded saying or tradition of Muhammad (s) validated by isnad; with Sirah Rasul Allah these comprise the sunnah and reveal shariah. According to Hazrat Aishah (r.a), the life of Prophet Muhammad (s) was practical implementation of Qur'an. Therefore, mention in hadith elevates the importance of the pertinent surah from a certain perspective.
Imam Ahmad recorded from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever wishes to look at the Day of Resurrection, as if he is seeing it with this eye, then let him recite: ‘When the sun Kuwwirat’(At-Takwir) and ‘When the heaven is cleft sunder (Al-Infitar) and ‘When the heaven is split asunder.(Al-Inshiqaq)’”
It was narrated that Jabir said: "Muadh stood up and prayed Isha', and made it lengthy. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Do you want to cause hardship to the people, O Mu'adh? Why didn't you recite 'Glorify the Name of your Lord Most High'(Al-Ala) or Ad-Dhuha or; 'When the heaven is cleft asunder?(Al-Infitar)"

Reward of reciting Surah Infitar
1. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said: Whoever recites Surah Infitar, Allah would keep him safe from humiliation on the Day of Judgment when his record of deeds would be made known and by command of Allah, his hidden affair would not be disclosed, and his condition on the Day of Judgment would be wholesome.
2. Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.) said: One who recites it at the time of rain, Allah would forgive him equal to the raindrops that fall.
Surah al-Infitaar (The Cleaving Asunder)
There are 19 ayaat in this Surah and it was revealed in Makkah. The Holy Prophet (S) said that if a person recites this Surah frequently in his prayers then on the Day of Judgement there will be no curtain between Allah (S.w.T.) and himself and when his book of deeds will be opened, Allah (S.w.T.) will protect him from humiliation.
If a prisoner writes this Surah and keeps it with him, he will be released sooner and he will be saved from any dangers. It is narrated from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq that even if the sins of the one who recites this Surah are equal to the drops of rain, he will still be forgiven. This Surah is also good for the eyes and one should blow gently into the eyes after reciting this Surah.
Whoso recites this surah and surah al Inshiqaq in his obligatory and supererogatory salats (namaz), Allah would have a glance of mercy on him on the day of judgement throughout the progress of reckoning, would not humiliate him by disclsonig his hidden deeds, at the time of making known his record of deeds, and would forgive him.
