The point is that if you do not have this app installed and you use one of these links then it installs it and remembers where you wanted to go and is build on app links so on Marshmallow and above devices it doesn't ask you to pick between Chrome and the app.

* The don't-ask feature is dependent on associations file on the server the deep link is to. (the deep link to be used from desktop)
