In this post, I am going to show you how to install Accessible Reader on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install Accessible Reader using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "Accessible Reader" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

Accessible Reader by Amway Opportunity Foundation is a mobile application which leverages available text-to-speech engines and makes it convenient for the visually impaired to read digital documents. AOF has taken this initiative in sync with the Govt. of India’s Accessible India campaign, which focuses on increasing the availability of Information & technology for differently abled people.

Some of the significant features of the application include:

• Supports English, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, ******i, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu languages, in the leading document formats - text, RTF, doc, docx and PDF files. (Install TTS engine to read the respective language files.)
• Increase or decrease the reading speed as per individuals comfort
• Play/Pause button.
• Navigation mode - to select and read word, sentence, paragraph and page.
• Read the desired page instantly with the help of "go to page" option.
• “Repeat” command repeats the word, line, paragraph or page at which the current navigation is set to.
• “Read All” button, to start the continuous reading of the document from the current location.
• It keeps the history of last 10 files opened and remembers the position on which the file was closed and would resume from the same place.
