The purpose of this book is to be a memorable record of the glorious evolution of the Brazilian Cardiology Society (SBC) in these 70 years of its history.
The book was edited with modern graphic patterns, trying to portray in its pages the result of work, struggle and dedication of thousands of Brazilian cardiologists engaged in building their society.
The work that the Board of SBC provides the Brazilian Cardiology reports the commitment of directors that followed since its inception in August 1943, in a successful career in relentless pursuit of winning the respect, admiration and confidence of his associates.
It is our purpose, in this edition, pay homage to all employees that led SBC to be a major specialty societies of the country and achieve the distinguished position he holds today, the third largest company in the world Cardiology.

Complementing the reports published in the commemorative edition of 50, published in 1993, emphasized in this issue, the redemption of shares of the last 20 years. During this period, the SBC has extended its participation by providing a range of modern service options to their members, both in the scientific area, as in Information Technology.
By reading this book, cardiologists feel very proud at what we did in these first 70 years of life and will continue to overcome stimulated with the same enthusiasm, the challenges that lie ahead in the coming decades.
And it is very good to see that the SBC reaches 70 as an elegant young lady, who does not smoke, exercise regularly, reduce the salt content of foods, keeping the weight, cholesterol and glucose levels recommended in its guidelines, remains active, working and innovating, and that because of this, where you're going is received with the respect deserved, even internationally, where the SBC has become a constant presence and courted.
