GoGlad is an inspired and fun movement game where various virtual vegetables, fruits and berries are grown in physical locations. The more the player moves, the more seeds are obtained in the game. The goal is to collect ingredients for virtual recipes, the difficulty of which gradually increases.
GoGlad can be played with more or fewer functions depending on your own desire and ability. There is support for both text or speech and therefore suits many. It is possible to play both individually or with someone on their own mobile as a fun activity.
To advance in the game, the player needs to move a certain distance, regardless of whether he sows and harvests in his own living room, on the asphalt, in the yard or in the park a few blocks away. Then it is important to get back to the same place to care for and water the plants. Eventually, vegetables or fruits can be harvested and transformed into exciting dishes in the app. When a certain number of dishes are cooked, the next level of play opens when new varieties of seeds and dishes become available. Each player creates a personal avatar and as the game progresses, there are different clothes to buy for their avatar.
The game also has a social function in that friends can be added for those who want. Friends can help each other take care of the crops and send small greetings. Anyone who does not want to play with friends can instead take care of plants that belong to the game's scarecrow. It is also possible to participate in seasonal events and collect different stamps. By cooking, being active and getting stamps or helping friends, you get money. The money can be used to buy tools for the plants or new clothes for their avatar. Friends, various events and rewards add extra spice to the game.
GoGlad is completely focused on user benefit and inspires, engages and motivates to activity. The movement that is lost is usually the one that is perceived as fun and here GoGlad fulfills an important function. With GoGlad, a regular simple walk becomes extra stimulating and has a fun purpose.
The seeds are planted using GPS coordinators. There must be a distance of at least 100 meters between the plants and they must be cared for in the same place as they were planted. The virtual parts of the game are connected to real places through AR technology, augmented reality, ie the same technology used in Pokémon Go, among others. For the game to work, the phone must be surfing.
Hushållningssällskapet Västra is primarily responsible for the GoGlad app, which has been produced and developed in collaboration with dimh AB (which is responsible for technical development and graphics) and a number of organizations and municipalities. These include FUB Västra Götaland, Inre Ringen, Grunden Media, the City of Borås (Disability activities), Alingsås municipality (LSS activities, Slussen, upper secondary special school) and Skövde municipality (LSS activities).
The financier is the General Heritage Fund. GoGlad is a user-friendly and fun and movement game for everyone, but is specially developed to suit people who need a little extra support and motivation.
