रीमद्भगवद्गीता (Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta ) हम हिंदुओं के पवित्रतम ग्रंथों में से एक है। महाभारत के समय कुरुक्षेत्र युद्ध में भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने गीता का अद्भुत ज्ञान अर्जुन को सुनाया था। यह महाभारत के भीष्म पर्व के अंतर्गत दिया गया एक उपनिषद है। भगवत गीता में ज्ञान योग, कर्म योग, भक्ति योग, एकेश्वरवाद की अति सुंदर ढंग से चर्चा की गई है।
सम्पूर्ण श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता का ज्ञान भगवान कृष्ण ने अर्जुन को कुरुक्षेत्र में दिया था, इसलिए श्रीमद भगवत गीता की पृष्ठभूमि महाभारत का युद्ध है।
जिस प्रकार एक सामान्य मनुष्य अपने जीवन की समस्याएं में फस कर किंकर्तव्यविमूढ़ हो जाता है और उन समस्याओं से लड़ने की बजाय उन से भागने लगता है उसी प्रकार अर्जुन जो महाभारत के महानायक थे, अपने समक्ष आने वाली विपत्तियों से भयभीत होकर जीवन और क्षत्रिय धर्म से निराश हो जाते हैं।
अर्जुन की समस्याओं का समाधान करने हेतु भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने उन्हें गीता का अमूल्य ज्ञान दिया था। अर्जुन की तरह ही हम भी कभी-कभी अनिश्चय की स्थिति में आ जाते हैं या फिर अपनी समस्याओं से विचलित होकर भाग खड़े होते हैं।

श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता वर्तमान में जीवन के प्रति अपने दार्शनिक दृष्टिकोण को लेकर भारत के साथ-साथ विदेशों में भी लोगों का ध्यान अपनी और आकर्षित कर रही है।
निष्काम कर्म का गीता का संदेश प्रबंधन गुरुओं को भी आकर्षित कर रहा है।
