As part of the Endorse research project, a serious purpose game is designed and developed for children suffering from type 1 diabetes and / or obesity. The main purpose of the game is to promote the ability of children to self-manage these diseases. Additional goals that are detected and usually occur in conjunction with self-management are educating users about their condition, establishing a routine that helps treat and prevent adverse effects, and promoting a healthy lifestyle and diet.



The serious game gives the user control of a character who is in the form of a fairy. The purpose of the user in the game is to collect through the missions food (vegetables, fruits, starches and protein) in the right proportions of monsters that have stolen them. This process is carried out through missions, which depending on their characteristics are divided into three categories (green, blue and purple pins). The selection of missions is made through an interactive map. The ultimate goal of the game is for children to assimilate the importance of exercise and proper nutrition.

At the same time, the user, after the successful completion of the missions, proceeds to the shaping of meals by choosing food and is rewarded with coins, which he can use to shape his character. Specifically, he can buy clothes and accessories that will change the look of the character. The character can be either male or female.

Finally, all the activities of the user in the game of serious purpose, but also activities that he does in the real world (steps, exercise), are rewarded by the game.
