FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Quiet Charge Plus? What happened to the original Quiet Charge?
It's still available on the Google Play store. The original Quiet Charge app was designed for Android versions 4.4 ('kitkat') and lower. Quiet Charge Plus is designed for Android version 5.0 ('lollipop') and higher. If you search the Google Play store for 'Quiet Charge', it will show you the correct choice for your device.
What is 'priority notifications' mode?
When you change the volume of your device with the volume buttons, you can also put your device into one of three notification modes: 'all', 'priority', or 'none'. This controls how your device handles sounds for incoming notifications like phone calls, text messages, and new e-mails.
During the day, you want your device in 'all' notifications mode, so you can hear every new notification as it arrives. Other times you might put your device into 'none' mode, which guarantees that it will never make a sound. This is useful during meetings, or when you're at a movie. Finally, you can put your device into 'priority' notifications mode at night. This keeps it quiet except for important sounds like your alarm clock or incoming phone calls.
Why would I want to turn on 'priority notifications' mode whenever my device is charging?
You probably charge your phone or tablet at night while your're asleep. Unfortunately, if the device is near your bed the incoming notification sounds can keep you awake. With Quiet Charge Plus, you don't need to remember to silence your device each night and switch it back each morning. Just charge it up like you always do!
Ok, I've installed Quiet Charge Plus. Now how do I use it?
Just plug your phone or tablet into its charger. The app should activate automatically and your device will go into 'priority notifications' mode (a star will appear in the status area at the top of the screen).
I plugged it in and nothing happened.
Was your device already in 'none' or 'priority' notifications mode? Because if it's already silent, there's nothing for Quiet Charge Plus to do.
How do I adjust the settings for this app?
Just tap on the Quiet Charge Plus icon in your phone's application list. A screen with some options will appear.
I use my phone as an alarm clock. Will Quiet Charge Plus make me miss my alarm?
No. Quiet Charge Plus only puts your phone into priority notification mode, which does not silence your phone's alarm clock.
Sometimes I plug my phone in during the day, but I only want to silence notification sounds at night?
Quiet Charge Plus includes an 'active hours' setting, which you can use to specify when the app is allowed to put your device into 'priority' mode.
Will this work with my wireless charger or charging cradle?
Yes, Quiet Charge Plus works whenever your device is charging, no matter what kind of charger you use.
