In the book Negara Kertabumi quoted by Sofwan, et al in the book Islamization in Java, it is stated that Sheikh Siti Jenar was born in the Malacca Peninsula.

He is the son of Sheikh Datuk Saleh, the younger cousin of Sheikh Datuk Kahfi, a well-known propagator of Islam in West Java.

In the book it is stated that Sheikh Siti Jenar is related by blood with Sunan Ampel and other guardians.

When he was growing up, Sheikh Siti Jenar went to Persi and stayed for some time in Baghdad. After that, he went to Gujarat and returned to Malacca.

He married a woman and had several children, including Ki Datuk Bardud and Ki Datuk Fardun.

Another story in the 2012 Borobudur Writer & Cultural Festival, in the event it was revealed that Sheikh Siti Jenar was allegedly the son of Sunan Ampel.

The author of the book 'Triogi Syekh Siti Djenar', KH Muhammad Sholikhin also supports this opinion, stating that Sheikh Siti Jenar or Syekh Lemah Abang is the son of Sunan Ampel.

"This is based on the Maktab Da'imi book. The book contains and explains the genealogy of habib and sayidh and reveals the fact that Sheikh Siti Jenar is still related to a guardian," he said.

Other opinions regarding the origin of Sheikh Siti Jenar also emerged. Abdul Munir Mulkhan in the book 'Syekh SIti Jenar: The Javanese-Islamic Struggle' mentions that Sheikh Siti Jenar comes from Cirebon, West Java with the real name Ali Hasan or Sheikh Abdul Jalil.
