There is an app for that. Well, at least there is now for Orion Township. Orion Township is a 36 square mile growing community. We are located in the heart of Oakland County, 3o miles north of Detroit. With the second fastest growth in the county, we are constantly welcoming new neighbors and businesses. We are home to the General Motors Orion Assembly Plant – birthplace of the Buick Verano, Chevy Sonic and soon the Chevy Bolt – GM’s first all-electric vehicle. We also boast nearly 10 square miles of recreation space, with 15 parks, 42 lakes, and over 53 miles of trail ways. We are home to the award winning Lake Orion Community School District and Indianwood Country Club, host of the 2012 U.S. Senior Open.

This mobile application will be the go-to spot for everything Orion. Based on industry studies, mobile devices have surpassed PC’s as the primary means of accessing the internet. In fact, over 80% of all smartphone users spend their time using apps as a way to get information at their fingertips. From social networking, to traffic and other special alerts, to a robust community events calendar, this app is a must-have to stay connected to the pulse of our community.

You’ve asked, and we answered. The most anticipated feature of this app will probably be the community event calendar. From your mobile device, you will be able to see events going on in the community and upload right into your own calendar. There are also many other cool features. You can register a problem or issue within the township right from your phone and send the location.
