ARCHITECTURAL ROUTE
Architectural heritage is an important segment of the cultural heritage. Through the architectural route, selected public and private buildings of different styles and epochs are presented. Family villas from the Austro-Hungarian period in the residential areas around Rondo show the influence of Western European architectural schools, while the examples of socialist architecture represent the legacy of the Yugoslav School of Architecture, where local architects favored more modest modernist aesthetics, prefabrication and repetitive modules. Knežić, Bogdanović, Ugljen and Ćemalović are just some of the architects who have left a big mark on the architectural heritage of Mostar. Interpretation and presentation of architectural heritage through tourism can contribute to the overall development of these areas.
COBBLESTONE MAP
Cobblestone is part of the architectural identity of Herzegovina and an important part of our cultural and historical heritage. It can be found in neighborhoods and courtyards of private houses, as well as in the yards of public buildings. The area of the Old Town is completely paved with cobblestone. Cobblestone is most often designed in geometric and floral shapes; The design of motifs, and the laying of the stones, constitute a true masterpiece. Pebbles from the Neretva are used to make cobblestone in Mostar, and walking on cobblestone also serves as a foot massage. Mostar has an abundance of cobblestone motifs, and our route includes some of the best preserved and most beautiful examples of motifs in the city.
THE NATURAL AND RECREATIONAL ROUTE
The natural and recreational route of the Mostar area and its surroundings represents selected localities for nature and adrenaline lovers, as well as for photo tourism. The area of Herzegovina is made up of diverse and interesting landscapes and due to its specific beauty, is a destination for selective forms of tourism. This route offers various forms of experience and a wide range of sports and leisure activities and includes excursions, water, hiking, adventure, entertainment, sports and environmental aspects of tourism. At Via ferrata, Blagaj Climbing and climbing halls, visitors can enjoy climbing on both natural and artificial rocks. Adrenaline lovers will enjoy the sports and adventure at the Fortica park, which offers various activities such as the Zip line, swings and sky walk. The Bare site, surrounded by forest, is suitable for walking, cycling and running.
STREET ART MAP
This map is a small segment of the art produced as part of the Street Arts Festival Mostar (SAFMO) that young activists, artists and cultural workers first launched informally, and later professionally, in 2012. The common goal, but also the common problem was to improve and help the regenerative process of space and society. Creating a street gallery is a subtle attempt to reinterpret and create a new memory and atmosphere of urban life and bring the art of civil life closer to the map of Mostar as a city of street art with one of the largest and most beautiful open-air galleries in the region and beyond. Through ten years of operation, SAFMO has managed to solve the problem of public space, respond to problems through artistic expression and ultimately become communicative, which certainly contributes to the process of improving the community. Multiculturalism as an important component of this Festival and its mission is one strong foundation on which the whole story was built. Explore the city through the paths of these murals painted by artists from around the world.
