Hi! I'm SanBas, a little bird of a species present in all Brazilian biomes. I adapt well to humid environments, such as the Amazon, and also to those with lower rainfall, such as the semi-arid region. I just can't adapt to dirty water... I'm extremely sensitive to water contamination by pesticides, heavy metals, sewage and solid waste. My singing is like the sound of a flute and changes according to the environment. In places where there is diversity, whether in the countryside or in big cities, I sing with joy! But in environments damaged by human action, my song emits clear sadness. That's why I'm the bird symbol of coexistence with the environment!

In this game, you will solve mysteries and understand how many everyday issues are related to sanitation. Whether in the kitchen, in the backyard or on the street, the sanitation of homes is impacted by conditions and decisions at the scale of the street, neighborhood, city, state, country and even the world! Let's talk about water supply and how, until it gets to your house, water goes a long way and can incorporate much of what it finds. We will also talk about sanitary sewage, that is, about the water we consume and that returns to the environment in the form of sewers. Solid waste also enters the game and will be addressed from the perspective of various actors and processes! And the rainwater? They fall from the sky, flow through the roofs and reach backyards, streets and neighborhoods, the territories must be prepared to receive them. Good municipal planning in basic sanitation should, like you, keep an eye on the daily lives of homes, as well as what happens in different territories at any given time!

This game was developed in a partnership between Funasa and UFMG that allowed researchers, professors and students to join residents, sanitation workers and managers from 30 municipalities in Minas Gerais with up to 50 thousand inhabitants, to think together about the sanitation.
