All this is happening in a young Norway that is trying to find itself, in an unstable Europe and in a world where men, on paper, decide.

Mrs. Sem's Choice is a visual novel, a game that combines computer games' ability to influence history, with empathy and drama from comics and fiction. It takes about an hour to play, but your choices govern the story, there are also many possible endings. You can therefore play Mrs Strøm several times, and each time get a new experience.

Mrs. Sem's choice is inspired by Else Marie Strøm, the woman who put Steen and Strøm on the road to becoming Norway's largest fashion magazine, and other women like her who at the beginning of the 19th century built up and ran businesses. Everything in the game is invented, but the challenges you face and the society you play are close to the story, and choices that these women may have made.
