The app "Birds in the local environment" is designed for students affiliated with the kindergarten teacher education at the University of Stavanger, but can also be useful for others who want to learn more about birds. The app deals with a selection of the most common birds in Norwegian nature. The bird's appearance is described and displayed with a picture and an example of the bird's sound is included. The purpose is to make the user better able to recognize some of the most common birds we have in Norway. The app also contains two quizzes to test and train your own art knowledge. Furthermore, the app contains two charts. "Most can fly" deals with characteristic adaptations of birds' anatomy and physiology that make them fit to fly. "Where on the bird" deals with naming the various parts of the bird. Background literature is listed under "Read more".
