In this post, I am going to show you how to install e-Guide on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install e-Guide using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "e-Guide" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

The Mondego Castles and Town Walls Network's main objective is the promotion and the cultural, tourist and economic development of the territory belonging to the defensive line of the Mondego. This line are part of the Castles of Coimbra, Lousã, Miranda do Corvo, Montemor-o-Velho, Penela, Soure and the watchman of Buarcos, among others. Using the latest technologies developed an innovative new product in tourism, in order to improve the quality and timeliness of information available to tourists within the network. Under this project developed then a tour guide of innovative features designed for Android mobile devices.
 
The e-Guide is a tourist guide for plan visits according to user preferences, such as location, means of transport and time available, allowing the display of the navigation to the background information on the map within counties Castles Network and Walls of the Mondego. The application allows the user to have a vision of monuments available, having at its disposal photographs, historical background and other relevant information of the points of interest. The application uses the technologies present in most mobile devices such as GPS to calculate the tourist location. The use of OpenSteetMaps maps allows the user to view your position on the map, the location of points of interest that you want to visit and route to be followed.
 
The application allows the user two ways of planning for your sightseeing tour, one that is calculated by the application taking into account the time available for the tourist, the means of transport, tourist location and the importance of the points of interest, the other indicating to the tourist all the points of interest and route between them getting the tourist out the decision on the items you want to visit.
