And here happened a murder is an experimental real crime docufiction AR game, based on real events and people. It was written by Scriptwriter & Dramaturgist Laura Majava and directed by Metaverse Lead Wesa Aapro from Yle Finnish Broadcasting Company. Motivation for the project was to study volumetric video's potential to increase empathy for the young generation in documentary and fiction storytelling. The premise of a hundred year old historical event connects to the real life phenomenals of segregation and polarization in today's western society.

The project was conceived in collaboration with the Chronosphere study program and published by volumetric capture stage 4DR Studios. The game was originally developed by Ruud Op den Kelder as a PC game and later ported to mobile AR by Dutch Rose Media. Other credits: Satu Majava, Tomi Sosunov, Jukka Nurmela, Steye Hallema, Natasja Paulssen, Laura Wagenaars, Richard Coopmans and Mathijs van der Palen.
