App hi!
You have this APP to practice and learn Hika! Enter, answer the questions and go through the levels.
Gypsy, allocative, toca, noka... Do you know what they are? It does not matter! Right now you have the opportunity to practice and learn all this in a very easy way, even starting from scratch. In 5 weeks, without difficulty, we will offer you all the basic structures of Hika and, through questions and answers, you will have the necessary tools to start speaking Hika.
Appa hi! is an application to practice an aspect of the language, but in a relaxed way, always starting from the playful aspect. We will also introduce you to the theoretical aspect of hika and the verb tables, but the core of the learning process is a question-and-answer style game. Dedicated to all Basque speakers, young and old, regardless of their level of Basque. It's free and available for both Android and Apple phones. Download and start playing!
If you practice for 10-15 minutes every day, you will be ready to start hiccupping in 5 weeks. That was the challenge we set ourselves: a period of 35 days.
Yes, on the 35th day, in one pill every day, certain information is given: explanations, drawings and videos, with examples. Then comes a series of questions related to the explanations, the matches to be guessed correctly. If you answer all the questions correctly, you will be able to take another pill the next day. And at the end of the week there will be a review, and the possibility to raise a level. There are a total of five levels to pass, one for each week. Who can do the process at his own pace. If you complete a pill every day, the fastest person will be able to complete all the sections in 5 weeks and work on all the basics of the hitman.
Together with the verbs and questions of the Basque language, Appahi! the application will also offer the forms of Hika from the local dialects. You already have the lessons from Oñati, Eibar, Arrasate, Aretxabaleta, Escoriatza and Leintz Gatzaga and we are currently working to create and publish verbs and questions from more towns in the coming months.
The application has been created by the Badihardugu Euskara Elkartea, with the support and technical development of CodeSyntax. The first version of the application was made with the support of the Oñati City Council in 2021, to revitalize Oñati's hika Ingo xonau! within the project. For the Basque Country section, we had the help and advice of Ritxi Lizartza. Also, Appa hi! the general project has received financial support from the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. The Eibar version has had the support of the Eibar City Council (Ego Ibarra Committee, Basque Department and the Akebai project). In the case of the municipalities of the Leintz valley (Arrasate, Aretxabaleta, Eskoriatza and Leintz Gatzaga) we have received the support of the local councils to develop the versions of the applications. In addition, we have had the help of Goiena and the members of the Arrasate Basque School to work on and adapt the Arrasate version, and the members of the Leintz Basque School for the rest of the villages in the valley. We want to thank everyone.
Additional information about the project can be found on the Appahi.eus website.
