Voice health monitoring Application analyzes YOUR voice and detects changes in voice quality. Voice disorders (dysphonia) are a common condition, affecting almost 10% of the population. The causes of dysphonia can be complications caused by acute respiratory infections (including virus infection), excessive stress on the vocal apparatus, stress, the consequences of surgical operations in the neck, benign and malignant tumors of the larynx, various neurodegenerative processes and other causes. Dysphonia may be an early symptom of laryngeal cancer.
The Voice health monitoring application requires the user to complete a few simple tasks:
1. Pronounce out [a:] for 4 seconds.
2. Pronounce the sound [a:] as long as possible on one exhalation.
3. Pronounce the sound [a:] to the maximum height (frequency).
4. Pronounce the sound [a:] at minimum intensity (as quietly as possible)

In doctor mode, it is possible to create patient profiles and keep track of measurements and view history for each individual.

The user's voice is recorded, and then a combination of indicators of the acoustic parameters of the voice is analyzed:
maximum phonation time (MPT),
the highest pitch frequency (denoted as F(0)-High), the lowest intensity (denoted as I-Low)
and jitter (denoted as as jitter - the degree of frequency instability of the pitch) to provide the user with a dysphonia severity index (DSI) of his voice.
The VoiceControl app calculates and displays your DSI value and provides you with recommendations based on the test results.

The recommendations provided should be taken as a guide to further action to improve your voice. To further analyze your voice, you can check your previous DSI recording history and track changes in your voice, or share the results with your doctor

Selecting a location to perform the voice test:
Voice must be recorded in a quiet room with no background noise/sounds. When choosing a quiet location, make sure that no one disturbs you during the test.

Anyone with voice impairment (dysphonia) lasting more than two weeks should see an otorhinolaryngologist (ENT). Timely and accurate diagnosis of diseases of the larynx is a critical step towards correct and effective treatment.

The Voice health monitoring app is not a medical device or diagnostic tool. The recommendations of the VoiceControl app do not replace professional medical advice or diagnosis. If you are concerned about your voice change, seek professional advice from your doctor.
