Create or adapt a design for embroidery machine, bearing in mind that simpler designs with open areas translate best into embroidery stitches. Designs with open areas will allow fabric to drape more naturally. Once complete, the design must be digitized to translate it into embroidery motifs stitch data for the sewing machine embroidery. This may be done in-house using software compatible with your machine embroidery designs, or outsourced to a reputable digitizing firm.

When working with a tricky fabric, like something that is thick and squishy like felt, loosely woven like burlap, or stretchy and knit like a tshirt, you can use an embroidery patterns as a transfer tool. Embroidery designs images are most commonly used on the back of fabric to hold it in place and give the fabric support while embroidery machine. We’re going to use them on front of the fabric as the actual embroidery letters pattern. Our choice of stabilizer for this technique is fusible tear-away stabilizer.

You’ll be much better off creating your own designs or modifying and improving on those that you’ve already selected from online/offline sources. And one excellent way of doing that is downloading some embroidery applique software from the net and making backups of the same. Alternatively, learning to edit the programs including scaling, sizing, rotating and merging the patterns will stand you in good stead when it comes to carrying out your everyday embroidery services projects.

You never want to iron your embroidery needles designs, but to get rid of some of those puckers you can cut a piece of heavy stabilizer just big enough to cover your design. Lay it over your design and spray lightly over your block with iron on embroidery from center out, the cutaway will protect the applique embroidery designs. After you complete your project. I sew through all layers right next to the machine embroidery thread that will closely match my background fabric. After you stitch all the way around your design you will notice how it really makes your design stand out.

Color blending can be achieved with hand embroidery patterns, but smooth gradients reqiure at least 3 colors to execute. As the best designs will have fewer than 9 colors of thread, consider what effects are necessary. If a design has multiple gradients of different colors, it will likely have to be simplified for embroidery work.
Unlike screen printing, color gradients are more difficult to pull off with best embroidery machine while still maintaining the image quality. If done, these color gradients could look “chunky”. A good example of this can be found on the logo shown below. This is due to solid color threads used to make up an embroidery hand image. Any images with color gradients will need to be simplified in order to make it possible to produce a high quality embroidery products.
