This app is an extension of the Niko Home Control app for smartphone or tablet. It allows you to receive calls from your Niko Home Control external video unit, to see who rang the doorbell and to have a conversation with your visitor wherever you are.

You will need the following:
With this app you can immediately receive calls from your Niko Home Control external video unit (ref. 550-2200X) without having to rely on an installer as long as your Niko Home Control installation is connected to the internet. Your electrical cabinet must be equipped with a connected controller (ref. 550-00003) or a gateway (ref. 550-00580). Your smartphone also needs to be connected to the internet (4G, 3G or WiFi). And finally, your Niko Home Control installation must be registered. To do this, you need to create an account on mynikohomecontrol.eu.

Features:
You will be able to receive calls even when the Niko Home Control access control app is inactive (as opposed to the Niko Home Control app which needs to be active in order not to miss any calls).
This app is an extension of the Niko Home Control app which can only receive calls within the WiFi home network. So in other words, you can choose not to use the access control app within the WiFi home network and use the Niko Home Control app instead.

Operation:
As soon as the installation procedure is finished, you can close the app and you are ready to receive calls.
An incoming call from the external video unit has the same ringtone as the one from a normal phone call. If the app is not displayed in the foreground, you will receive a notification giving you the opportunity to accept the video conversation.
When you answer the call, you will see the visitor and be able to have a conversation. You can also choose to ignore a conversation. You can mute your smartphone's microphone during a conversation. The orientation of your phone will determine the dimensions of the image. When holding your phone horizontally, the image of your visitor will be displayed in widescreen. If the network quality is not good enough to have a video conversation, audio communication will automatically take over and the image will be suppressed.
If you decide to allow your visitor to enter, you can open the Niko Home Control app during the conversation and start a pre-programmed 'unlock door' action. You can then return to the access control app and continue your conversation.

For installations with access control, we recommend installing at least 1 touchscreen (550-20101 or a more recent version) as a wired connection is always stronger than a wireless one.
The quality of the network connection (3G, 4G and WiFi) and the transition between networks are subject to environmental factors which can vary significantly and interrupt the connection.

By downloading the Android app for Niko Home Control, you accept the terms and conditions of the Niko Home Control access control app (Android) which you can find on www.niko.eu under ‘Legal & privacy’.

The Niko Home Control access control app requires a Niko Home Control installation version 1.16. A software update of the installation may therefore be necessary.
