I have tried very few projects with Broken Glasses. However, I will certainly try to give my honest shot to explore more options for you.

Tip 1: Always use a rubber or latex gloves, while dealing with broken mirror or glass-kind of stuff. In case of injury use an adhesive bandages for quick fix or check with your nearest doctors. As the glass particles could be very minute and when ignored, could be really dangerous.
Tip 2: It is always good to use a glue made to bond with glass, or the glass will come apart again as soon as it is cleaned. Silicone based adhesives are transparent and strong once dry, but can be toxic. As information available in web, Aquarium glues fall under this category.
