At the beginning of autumn is the big party in town! The streets are filled with fun, cattle shows and a large market. The Woerdense Koei Mart is an ancient tradition. This event is organized annually.

Since 1410 has Woerden market rights. Traditionally cattle were traded on the cow mart and the streets were full of beasts. Over 600 previous editions of these markets have been Woerden made famous! The Koei Mart is placed since 2017 on the Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory.

Nowadays cow mart is a big party in the city, where to admire the cattle farmers in cattle shows. Every autumn weather bustles in the city with a fair, market and local market. The cow mart is a reunion for all farming families and a proud day for the whole region.

Woerden is the capital of the Green Heart. The heart, where city and country meet. Where grazing cows and cheeses are made. The municipality has its unique villages and open countryside that accompanies contemporary and historic city center.
