The Central Queensland Capras are the premier rugby league club in Central Queensland. Based in Rockhampton, the Capras represent the whole Central Queensland region from Bundaberg and Gladstone in the south, Emerald, Blackwater & Longreach in the west to Sarina in the north.

The Capras compete in the state-wide Intrust Super Cup Competition which is the direct pathway to the NRL and widely regarded as the second-best rugby league competition in Australia. The club also has teams in the Cyril Connell and Mal Meninga Cup Competitions for Under 16′s and Under 18′s. In 2013 the Capras will for the first time have an U21s program. The Capras currently provide a true pathway for aspiring junior players to play their junior football in C.Q. representing the Junior Capras through to the Intrust Super Cup Level and then onto the NRL.

The Central Queensland Capras has a rich history steeped in tradition and heritage within Central Queensland. The Capras club has nurtured and developed many young players that have gone on to represent at NRL, State of Origin and International level. Players like Matt Sing, Dave Taylor, PJ Marsh, Steve Bell, Justin Loomans & Ben Hunt just to name a few have electrified the local CQ crowds with their amazing rugby league skills and gone on to represent with pride this great region.

Previously known as the Comets, the Capras have had a strong affiliation with NRL powerhouse the Brisbane Broncos since 2009. Such an affiliation provides talented Central Queenslanders the direct pathway and opportunity to follow their dreams without having to move too far away from their support networks. The Broncos affiliation also allows emerging players the opportunity to commence university or TAFE studies or an apprenticeship in the thriving Central Queensland region.

Central Queensland is truly the heartland of rugby league and is at the top of the list for NRL expansion. The recent merger between the CQ Capras and the CQ NRL Bid will further strengthen the strong foothold that rugby league holds in the community.

All home games are played at Browne Park in Rockhampton – a venue widely recognised as one of the best sporting venues in country Queensland.

During this time the club has come up with some fantastic ideas and innovative plans to ensure the strength of the club continues long in to the future.

One of the main areas the club was looking to improve on was the way in which it was currently communicating with its players, members, supporters and sponsors.

With a forward thinking and a dynamic board the club was actively pursuing different methods which would enable them to improve on their existing communication channels.

After conducting a review of all the options available to them the club is pleased to announce the release of their first ever native mobile phone app for Android.

The app will be branded in the famous colours of the Central Queensland Capras and the content available to users in the app will contain information about the club.
