"With the ODI app from wir4mobil you can book your personal taxi on demand for a route of your choice. Flexible, simple and convenient: ODI transports you as a complementary service to public transport in the entire area of the "wir4" municipalities of Kamp -Lintfort, Moers, Neukirchen-Vluyn and Rheinberg.
ODI operates without fixed (departure) times and without fixed routes. ODI is there when you need ODI. Important is that there is no adequate public transport alternative available for your trip, which you book in advance.
Just register and with just a few clicks you can specify the desired start and destination area as well as the desired payment method. The public transport surcharges for a journey with ODI are calculated cost-effectively accurate to the kilometer and according to direct distance. Applicable is the VRR-On-Demand tariff.
Payment options: cash or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
functioning
The ODI wir4mobil app (ODI briefly) is the registration, inquiry and booking platform for journeys with the on-demand taxi as part of alternative public transport services in the "wir4Region" (Kamp-Lintfort, Moers, Neukirchen-Vluyn and Rheinberg).
A successful booking request is possible for all journeys for which the local Verkehrsverbund Rheinruhr (VRR) or the local transport company Niederrheinische Verkehrsbetriebe (NIAG) do not offer an adequate public transport connection. "Adequate" refers to journeys that cannot be started within one hour of the request.
A prerequisite for the use of ODI is the prior setup of an ODI customer account. The setup is done with a few simple steps in the login area of the ODI app.
Once set up, ODI customers can formulate their trip request by specifying their desired start and destination in the app. The request is possible by naming a specific address or by marking it in a map.
Immediately afterwards, the platform plays out a virtual starting point of the journey in the immediate vicinity of the passenger as well as a virtual destination point close to the destination. As an additional public transport service start and finish points can be:
• either in the immediate vicinity of the actual start or finish point,
• as well as at a public transport stop, which ensures a quick and direct connection to the onward journey.
The principle of the ODI app is to link similar travel wishes of different passengers. If a combination is possible with little additional effort or with only a slightly different route, these journeys will be connected. In this case, additional passengers will board and disembark during the journey.
Booking in good time before departure is a mandatory requirement for every passenger.
ODI is currently a pilot project financially supported by the Ministry of the Environment, Nature and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. As such, the method of operation has to get into full swing and prove itself. For this reason, the guaranteed acceptance of travel requests is not (yet) possible. If an inquiry is unsuccessful, the inquiring passenger shall be notified immediately.
