He is also considered a pioneer of the integration of puppetry art with modern musical equipment. To improve his skills, Manteb learned a lot from senior puppeteers, for example the legendary puppeteer Ki Narto Sabdo in 1972, and to Ki Sudarman Gondodarsono who was a saber expert, in 1974. Ki Manteb's expertise in sabet shooting was not just a fighting scene, but also includes scenes of dancing, sadness, joy, surprise, sleepiness, and so on. In addition he also created a flashback scene that was previously only known in the world of film and literary works.
