Be a good mate - become a mental health ally. Download Mayday as a (very clever) preventative measure, for when people you care about (including you) need help.

The Mayday app acts as a real-time, pocket-sized crisis buddy to assist its user through various forms of mental health crises or pending crises. It's designed for (and by) young Aussies, to you and your mates safe when facing turbulence, including suicidal ideation, panic attacks and self harm, as well as general 'maydays'.

With no account needed, Mayday is designed to be used as part of your overall mental wellbeing and safety strategy and not intended to be your only form of support. Ideally, you could work with a health professional or support person to create a mental health crisis plan, at a time when you’re feeling safe and neutral. You could also use a safety planning app like Beyond Now to create this plan for yourself and encourage others to do the same.

The Mayday App does link out to crisis services, however if you are in an emergency or at immediate risk of harm, please contact emergency services on triple zero (000).

Mayday was developed by Aussie not for profit, ALLKND Ltd, in collaboration with The Mindful Collective and a number of University of Queensland School of Psychology placement students.

ALLKND Ltd would like to acknowledge Siobhan O'Leary Ashford Designs and Craig Horwood for their valuable contributions to this project.
