This Baby Monitor app watches over your sleeping baby like an extra parent, when you are not around.

It is ideal for when you put your baby to sleep, and you go to another room in the house. It doesn't matter how large your home, or even if you are out for the evening and relying on a babysitter – it will call at any distance.

The app takes the traditional concept of a baby alarm and updates it for the smartphone era – no extra purchases or expensive tech. You just need an existing Android device, and you can set things up in minutes.

Simply place the monitoring phone near the baby and the microphone will detect any noises and raise the alarm.

For example, if your baby cries out, the Sleep Nanny app will pick up on this and then automatically call up to two phone numbers (I.e., both parents primary cell phones).

You can then tend to your baby immediately or answer the call and listen in to see if there's a true disturbance. You can even soothe your baby over loudspeaker!
