WRI is the world's leading association of manufacturers, allied industries and professionals engaged in the production and application of structural welded wire reinforcement (WWR) and related products for concrete reinforcement. Headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, the Wire Reinforcement Institute is the only organization devoted solely to developing, expanding and serving structural WWR markets
The Institute's efforts to advance the industry range from executing general marketing campaigns and providing promotional materials to conducting a variety of outreach programs designed to increase the construction industry's awareness and use of structural WWR's superior performance attributes and breadth of applications. WRI and its divisions promote structural WWR through seminars, workshops and programs targeted to construction industry decision-makers, such as architects, contractors, engineers, educators and owners. WRI serves as a resource for technical data and information, customer support, and training.
WRI's other outreach efforts include supporting scientific research and product development, providing broad-based technical and engineering assistance, developing educational programs and materials, and working closely with appropriate government agencies, allied industries, and codes and standards organizations. The Institute maintains a number of standing committees and subcommittees that initiate and oversee these efforts, as well as monitor the industry's emerging technologies and issues. WRI seeks to identify new opportunities and to help manage developments of critical interest to WRI membership and the industry at large.
In this application, wire spacing's in the "Calculate Wire Size" tab are calculated based on the nominal wire sizes and are rounded up to the nearest half wire size number. Wire sizes in the "Calculate Wire Spacing" tab are based on wire sizes input and the wire spacing's are calculated and rounded up to the nearest one-half inch. Wire can be produced where the area drawn is drawn to the third decimal place. For example a #5 rebar actual area is 0.3079615 and so on. Wire can be drawn to an area equal to 0.307 square inches.
