Usage
You can download the app to your personal smart device while in the museum in Ventspils. When you notice a square code (QR) sign in the exhibition, scan it with the help of the app and look, listen or read multimedia information about the exhibits.
Offline use
Once the QR code of the exhibit has been scanned, the section of the app dedicated to this exhibit will be available to you even after visiting the museum and offline.

Three parts
The app, like the museum exposition, has several sections that make it easier to navigate. The "Permanent exposition" section is dedicated to the museum's indoor exhibition, which shows the traditional way of life and history of the inhabitants of Northern Kurzeme in the 19th and 20th centuries. "Open-air exposition" covers the museum's collection of historical buildings. On the other hand, the section "Narrow-gauge railway" tells about the operation of this railway in North Kurzeme in the 20th century.

About the museum
The seaside open-air museum was established in 1954 and houses a unique ethnographic collection that tells about Northern Kurzeme in the 19th and 20th centuries. century. In 1965, the open-air exposition was expanded with a section dedicated to the narrow-gauge railway, including a train and a 1 km long track circle, which began to function fully in 1996. 2018-2023 In 2008, the museum underwent extensive renovation and a new exposition was created.
