The 6th edition of the Festival Aves de Paraty - FAP, held by the Cairuçu Association since 2013, takes place this year in partnership with SESC Paraty in Largo de Santa Rita - Historical Center, from September 13 to 16; with all its history, culture, diversity of birdlife and exuberance of the Atlantic Forest.
It is a unique event that brings environmental education, observation and photography of free birds in our beautiful city. The main educational objective of the Festival Aves de Paraty is that children and adolescents learn playing with birds and environmental preservation; uniting awareness, knowledge and leisure in a circuit of practical activities guided by monitors and free. In five annual editions of the event, about 3,000 students from 30 educational institutions participated in the educational activities.

In parallel, the field trips allow the observation and registration of different, rare and even new bird species; besides the opportunity of interesting exchanges, since all this happens in a great meeting of people who love to pass! So far we have 477 species of birds registered in our county, among them, the black-headed ants and the dark-buzzard, sighted daily in the region. It is worth mentioning that our bird wealth is very expressive in relation to the total species of the Atlantic Forest biome!

Check out the complete program with highlights for the exhibitions 'Aves da Mata Atlântica' by João Quental and'Asas do Pantanal`, both sponsored by Sesc Paraty; the table 'Digital Platforms to support Bird Watching`; the talk wheel 'Youth and Bird Watch'; educational activities for children and young people; the bird photography workshop with João Quental; and the annual launch of the Guide Birds of Paraty, with photos of Renato Rizzaro.

Come to participate in educational activities and strengthen birdwatching by supporting the formation of an OBSERVING BIRD CITY that joins its natural and historical heritage to socioeconomic development. The Aves Festival of Paraty takes place from September 13 to 16, 2018 in Largo de Santa Rita - Historical Center of Paraty.
